On a lifelong search
for the essence of faith and truth,
I’ve learned a few things.
I’d like to share them with you…
… for free.
Here’s a little of my story…
Following Jesus is quite the adventure. Currently God has me serving as the Senior Pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School in Elmhurst, IL. I came to Elmhurst in 2016 after spending 11 years at Bethel Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN. Prior to that I completed my seminary studies at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis.
My passion is to encourage people to follow Jesus and to understand His calling in simple, beautiful ways. In 2014 I took a sabbatical to author a discipleship curriculum called the Harvest Incubator for Mission formerly administered through LINC – Twin Cities . (Check out my “sabbati-blog.”) Incorporated into that process is a powerful method for illustrating the Christian faith called Agape Sticks. Check out my Agape Sticks YouTube site to learn how to easily explain the Christian faith with simple illustrations using stick figures and arrows.
In addition to my work as a pastor I have served in various capacities with the Minnesota South District of the LC-MS, Concordia Academy, Central Lutheran School, LINC – Twin Cities, and currently am a member of the Board of Directors of the World Mission Prayer League.
The life I intended for myself was in the field of music. I have a BA from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO in the area of music composition, specializing in choral composition. While my time now is spent more writing sermons than music, I still enjoy writing the occasional hymn and choral setting.
I truly hope you will find this site to be a blessing. God has called us to be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. Perhaps my words here can encourage you to follow on that narrow way.
